SA-xDSP - (includes all models) Revision History-->
SA8 is noted here but this covers all models, where features are appropriate. Not all models have all features.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Known Bugs (new gen hardware specific):
> Some systems come up too fast and the Router will assign a new IP address after reload, as the old one is still being held in use.
> Firmware Update from firmware prior to Rev-xx-xx-46_WebUI-16, or from any previous version to Rev xx-xx-72 or higher, loads but does not reboot correctly sometimes. Requires a Manual Power off from the rear panel to complete normally.
> In the Speakers-->Advanced Controls-->Crossover: Changing the Crossover Order or Type does not recalculate the available PEQ for the channel. It is possible to have PEQ in the speaker preset that is not active as the maximum DSP has been exceeded. This is a very advanced feature so be careful!
> When test tone is on and the amp is placed in standby, if the network power save is OFF then on power on the webpage does not update to reflect the reset test tones and enabled speakers. Page must be manually reloaded.

Coming Soon:
> Added 1st order hi low filter into Channel User EQ for fine adjustment of rolloff and phase during calibration
> Add ping/pong from webpage (client) to close if amplifier (server) is powered off or not responding within a short time, instead of waiting for Router to update open hosts or become stale.

> User stored snapshot ("PRESETS") to store and recall Channels and Speakers configuration in real time.
> DANTE network IP and Hardware config information displayed on NETWORK tab, with the ability to reset to DHCP.
> Firmware Update shows files being unpacked on amplifier (server) after upload from computer (client).

SA8DSP_Rev-xx-xx-73_WebUI-40

Changes/Enhancements:
> Added ICS3FR speaker profile
> Added SUB2 speaker profile

Bug Fixes:
> Moved the DSP Initialization later in the turn on steps to avoid programming the chip too soon and causing a DSP re-init for no good reason!
> Removed DSP Hardware Chip Core Status check from the turn on programming routine, as the status flag of the hardware may not be available during download of the DSP program. This begins automatically once powered on.
> On SA8DSP and IA8DSP built after August 2025 - Corrects the DSP Status Monitoring and Recover logic that would recover from DSP faults and Clock failures, but could leave the output muted. DSP would recover audio but amplifier would remain muted.
> For SA2DSP and SA3DSP only (WebUI JS code) - removed option for Mains Power On so only "turn on" is available. This is a hardware limitation and is not visible to end users but is set this way as a precaution.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Release date 2026-06-03
SA8DSP_Rev-02-72_WebUI-39

> Improves I2C bus recovery during bootup, to avoid stuck state.
> added Log message details for better troubleshooting
> initial File System updates for future expansion to include Snapshot presets recall
> Factory Default is now for "POWER ON" from initial power, to ensure the Network properly sets up and responds after a power failure.
> Removed "Factory Reset" from Telnet menu
> Telnet server is now tested and approved for use with external controllers such as Crestron.

Bug Fixes:
> Dante Enable reset on reboot and dsp re-init, was possible for the DSP clock line to be pulled low and not boot without a hard power cycle. This could cause "no audio" without hard power cycle.
> Simplifies Front Panel LED board Initialization to avoid incorrectly initializing the wrong device address, which makes the LED not responsive, specifically on SW-1DSP hardware.
> improved I2C bus recovery and stuck detection
> http server: fix an infinite loop in the http stack ( HTTP_TRANSMIT_BLOCK_SIZE);

> Allows for 2 concurrent WebUI sessions at a time. NOTE: If 2 users access the same page at the same time, the last person to make a change will overwrite the older session.
> Changed power supply monitor so that audio will continue to play until the caps are discharged. If there is a power supply fault (Temperature or Hardware Failure), the system will log the event, blink the front panel, and attempt to allow the power supply to recover. Audio will no longer automatically mute.
> Changed output clipping monitor to ignore any clip event that is less than 1000ms in length.

> Factory RESET will now reload using the IP Address (if using IP Address and not Hostname). This avoids reloading with the generic hostname if there are multiple units on the same network.
> changed the ACDC Power Supply error monitoring (PowerFail & ACDC Overtemp); when either of these signals are HIGH, amp will MUTE all amp modules, and blink the front panel LED.
> changed how ACDC PowerFail or Power Supply Overtemp recovery works; When the fault clears from the ACDC, MUTE is released and normal operation continues.
> Added LED ON command for SA2 and SA3 (only used in testing at the Factory Assembly, not in field use)
> added a log message write (MSG_CONFIG_RESET, 2, 0, 0); if the User configuration is reset from bad header read. This would only happen if the user configuration data was corrupted on the file system.
> added a log message write (MSG_CONFIG_RESET, 1, 0, 0); when choice 2 is selected in Telnet. This would only happen if someone used the Telnet to reset the User configuration.
> moved the Log event write for Webserver (Web UI) User Configuration Reset to before the reset to align with the Telnet server cfgreset.
> Changed amp channel CLIP detection threshold to 1250 milliseconds to allow driving amp into clipping but stil protect the output from damage.

Change List
>Add Channel Button now shows at bottom of Channels list as well as top.
>Channel information is not sent until the has a name or input source selected. This elimiates sending channel information over the netowork if nothing is defined yet.
>Add Speaker Button only allows the maximum number of speakers to = the maximum number of amplifier channels. You cannot add more speakers than amplifier channels.

Bug Fixes:
>Changes behavior of Channel functions, only sending the channel being edited and not the entire channel list with each edit. This reduces the amount of data sent and increases stability of the system.

Released 3/8/2023
SA8DSP_Rev32_WebUI-07
WebUI Version DSP8-0.07 3-7-2023. System Controller Firmware Version 08.01.32.

Change List
>User EQ on Channels shows correct fields based on EQ type and hide unused entry fields. Parametric shows Q, Gain and Frequency, High and Low Shelf show Gain and Frequency, High and Low Pass show Frequency.
>Insight In-wall (P2i, P4i, P6i, L8i) have updated Speaker Profiles
>Speaker Test Signal-->Polarity pulse "pop" is modified to work better with subwoofers. The pop is now louder than before and easier to hear on limited bandwidth speakers.
>EQ and Driver Filters "Gain" and "Q" (for all EQ types) will send updated data as you change, or click the up/down arrow "live" so you can hear the changes in real time. If you hold the up/down arrow the data will be now wait until the control is released to send the updated data. This helps to reduce Network data traffic and improve UI responsiveness.
>EQ and Driver Filters "Frequency" (for all EQ types) will send updates only after exiting the entry box field (lose focus). This is so that typing in the box does not send the wrong Frequency. You must exit the field to send the data.
>Allows for Driver Outputs to be left undefined for speakers, especially bi-amp and tri-amp, without losing the output configuration. This allows for a speaker to have the output of only one driver routed the amp properly.

Bug Fixes:
>fixes a condition where the Analog to Digital Convertor clock reference could be out of sync with the DSP processor, causing static audio or low output. This would only impact analog inputs and not DANTE or internal noise test.
>corrects the Channel EQ filter settings, to properly calculate the User EQ
>If a speaker profile is selected but an output driver (amp channel output) is not selected, the display correctly updates.
>Updated the Point3-GT speaker profile to fix a bug where the UI would hang on the speaker model and appear to be frozen.
>Speakers-->Advanced now correctly calculates the high and low pass filter graphics for the display of the crossover.
>The Web UI timer countdown logic for checking network connectivity is simplified, this is to avoid edge cases where the UI could get stuck in a loop and continuously reload when the network connection was OK and no reload was needed.
